ASA County Meet 6/27 Details

This email has a lot of information for the ASA Championship meet on Friday so please read the email in its entirety and don’t hesitate to ask any questions! It is a lot of information to absorb, especially for first-time attendees.

ASA Forsyth County Championship Meet - Friday, June 27th @ 9:30am

  • Address: Campus Recreation Center (CRC), 750 Ferst Drive NW, Atlanta, GA
  • Parking: you will need to pre-purchase parking in advance to park in the lot directly adjoining the CRC (W10 Lot); pre-purchase link: Parking Pre-Purchase I highly recommend purchasing ASAP and be sure to select the correct session for parking, we are Day 3 Morning Session on June 27th. They have been having some problems with parking listed as sold out but they are trying to open more parking. I have been in touch with ASA and they say there is more parking available so keep checking. Additional (non-prepaid) parking is also available in the W23 lot which is an easy walk.
  • Arrival Time: our team must check-in and enter the building together at our assigned time of 8:30am; please plan to arrive by 8:15 am on the front lawn of the CRC so we can check-in all swimmers with our coaches and volunteers before we enter the building. *Atlanta traffic can be unpredictable so please allow enough travel time to arrive promptly.*
  • Warm-ups: our warm-up time is from 9:10-9:25 am in the girls pool.
  • Team & Spectator Seating: after we enter the building, we will bring swimmers to our assigned seating area on deck. Bleachers A and B.
    • PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK (unless they are serving in a volunteer role and have a deck credential; credentials are required for all non-swimmers on deck).
    • Spectator seating is available on the upper level overlooking both pools - see attached map for designated seating area. Some teams are assigned areas to sit in the upper deck - DO NOT SIT IN THESE AREAS, only sit in the designated spectator areas of Sections 103-108 and 204-209. Please also remember the girls pool is next to the diving well and boys pool is next to the scoreboard when selecting your seating.
  • Meet Format: there are two pools running simultaneously (boys pool and girls pool, see attached map); this is a timed finals event (no prelims and finals); the order of events is different for this meet, all relays are swam at the beginning: 6&u free relay, all medley relays, 6&u freestyle, all other free relays, 6&u backstroke and then remaining meet events follow normal order (short free, long free, backstroke, IM, breaststroke, butterfly).
  • Swimmer Items to Bring: swimmers need to arrive dressed in their swimsuits with county t-shirt (see info further below for t-shirt distribution); in addition to cap and goggles, be sure to bring plenty of towels, drinks and snacks; there will be a concession stand open on the 2nd level but it is best for swimmers to have ample drinks and snacks available on hand with them during the meet.
  • Heat Sheets: heat sheets will be sent to you electronically in advance of the meet (on Wednesday or Thursday once available), please print as many copies as you like. MeetMobile will also be available for anyone who has this app (different from our SwimTopia app). Heat sheets will NOT be available for purchase at the meet.
  • County T-Shirts & Practice: county t-shirts will be provided to swimmers on Wednesday, June 25th and Thursday, June 26th; there will also be a county swimmers practice on Thursday, June 26th from 10-11am 11 and Up and 11 am-12 pm for 10 and under (optional, but a great opportunity for swimmers to fine tune strokes, starts and turns before the Friday meet).

Thanks for making it to the end - we'll send final reminders on Thursday as well. :-) Please let me know if you have any questions on anything. It’s going to be a fun meet and a great way to end our season!

Go Waves!
