MOCK MEET
Hello Waves Families,
We’re just one week away from our Mock Meet on Thursday, May 21st at 5:30 PM. We’ll have light concessions available, along with volunteer positions for families to sign up for. For our new families, the Mock Meet is a great way to get a feel for how a swim meet will run. This year, we will also be checking in swimmers at all meets. Our theme for this meet is GREEN OUT!
We’re also proud to support Collins’ Cure, a cause that is especially meaningful to one of our own here at Windermere. May is Cystinosis Awareness Month, and this fundraiser is a special way for our community to come together, raise awareness, and support research for families affected by cystinosis. We’ll also be raffling spa treatment tickets from Zivel, so it’s a fun way to give back while supporting an important cause. Raffle tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the concession stand.
The volunteer signup, listed as “Job Signup” on SwimTopia, will go live at 10:00 AM every Friday before each meet. Trey Hoffman, our Volunteer Coordinator, will send an email each Friday morning before meets to remind you to mark whether your swimmer(s) will be attending and to sign up for volunteer positions. Please note: if your swimmer(s) are not marked as attending by Friday, they will not be eligible to swim in that meet. Tip: you can go ahead and mark attendance for all meets now if you already know your plans. Volunteer signup will close at 10:00 PM the day before each meet.
As a reminder, each family agreed to provide one volunteer per meet, working one half of the meet, for every meet their swimmer participates in. Volunteers may be any family member age 14 or older, or a friend or neighbor. If your family does not fulfill the volunteer requirement, your swimmer(s) may not be eligible to swim in the following meet. If you are scheduled to volunteer and something comes up, please contact Trey as soon as possible. If you are already at the meet, you can find him at the Volunteer Table underneath the pavilion.
Step-by-step instructions for how to declare swimmers and sign up to volunteer can be found on the website at windermerewaves.swimtopia.com under Meet, If you’re new, don’t worry—we’ll explain everything, and we have plenty of experienced parents who are happy to help.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m looking forward to a swim-tastic season!
Thanks A million!
